The CCi Prestressed Concrete Plant Certification Program follows the Florida Department of Transportation 450 Prestressed Concrete Specification for constructing its inspection guidelines (click blue text for spec). The FDOT 450 Specification is touted as the most stringent prestressed concrete specification in the nation and is accepted by the FHWA. All biannual unannounced inspections last for a full production cycle. The Certification Program can be adjusted to fit other state or job specific specifications.
Plants seeking an alternative inspection service for their existing certification specification to save the cost of membership may retain CCi to certify compliance as have many production facilities for over 20 years. Plants may use CCi inspectors for an independent certification inspection or choose to have a local firm or client retained inspector to provide their certification. Equivalent certification verification is, by law, accepted by federal, state, and local governments.
Owner and Founder Fred McGee felt a quality prestressed concrete plant certification program did not have to be expensive to be effective and thorough. “Certification can cost a small plant around $30,000 a year for two, one day inspections and can go up to over $100,000 for a large plant which is absurd,” he said.
CCi Prestressed Concrete Plant Certification costs $8,000 per year for two full production cycle inspections with no added requirement and expense of membership. CCi Inspectors remain in the plant to completion regardless of the time required to witness a full production cycle which usually requires a day and a half.
Firmly solidified in Florida with 73% of the active FDOT approved plants certified by CCi, we are poised to offer prestressed certification services to other states. Certification cost savings estimates will easily exceed 60% because no membership fees are charged.
CCi provided Architectural Precast Concrete Plant Certification exclusively for the Architectural Precast Association (APA) members for over 25 years. Now, Architectural Certification is available from CCi to non-member plants as well with no cost of membership. All CCi architectural inspectors are either professional engineers who boast over ten years of experience in the precast concrete field or inspection professionals with over 20 years experience in quality control management.
